Baby's 1st Christmas

A baby's first Christmas is always celebrated and is definitely one to remember....

So why not make their first Christmas photo into a special Christmas ornament?!

I found some lovely wooden cut-outs at a scrapbooking shop. They turned out beautifully (if I say so myself!) Just added a little glitter and ribbon... and of course photos of my darlings' first Christmases!
No mess... No fuss!

However if you can't find ready-made cut-outs, I saw a similar idea using wood slices as a rustic backing for your photos at  diy-wood-slice-photo-ornaments
These photos are decoupaged onto wood-slices, and then a hole is drilled into the top so you can add ribbon to hang on the tree.

There are many ways to create an ornament using special photos, and it's cetainly not limited to baby photos. Why not use old family photos, or make a new ornament every year with an annual family photograph.

Another lovely, yet simple idea is to slip a circle-shaped photo into a glass/clear-plastic bauble:

So go on... I know you want to! Your Christmas tree is just begging for some beautiful family photos to adorn it's branches!

Tutu Fabulous!

There's nothing quite as sweet as a little girl in a tutu!
Every little girl has to be a ballerina, at least once in her lifetme.
I make little tutus for babies & little girls.
My personal favourite is the Rainbow Tutu:
Rainbow full-circle Tutu
But my latest creation is the Half-Tutu, on ribbon.
It's ideal for newborn-baby photographers, so the babies don't have to lie on the fabric:
Purple & Pink Half-Tutu
White & Black Half Tutu
White Half Tutu
Green & Yellow Half-Tutu
If you'd like to order one, contact me on www.facebook.com/KB.Craft.Creations

These are a few of my favourite things...

I love making cards, it's one of my favourite things.
I believe it means so much more when it comes from the heart.
This is one I made for my sister.

But I have also made a few sets to sell:
Black&White Set of 5 cards (only)

Multi-colours Set of 5 cards
If you're interested in buying or ordering cards, you can contact me on my Facebook Page/KB Craft Creations/album Cards

In today's age of technology, very few people write letters or even send cards anymore... If you're not big on making cards, why not just write a little note, to let someone know you love them.

Last Christmas...

I gave you my heart....
And a Christmas Cake... made with love of course!

This was baked in a ring-cake tin, to give it the wreath effect. I decorated it with green icing and a little edible glitter for that twinkly-effect, three red cherries and green jelly sweets as a jolly Holly decoration. All wrapped up with a red bow.

All in all it turned out quite nicely. Simple but effective. And absolutely delicious!

And then there was the little Angel Bookmarks I gave my bookclub friends:

I worked it from a couple of free patterns I found online, which I used as a guideline but changed and adapted the patterns to create this.

But if you're looking for a similar pattern, you can find a whole list of crochet angel patterns on
www.barbscrochet.com

Well that was last Christmas and you may be asking what I'm busy making this Christmas... but that's a surprise that I can't share with you yet!

Rest in Peace Nelson Mandela

This is truly a sad day for South Africa. We all share the pain of the loss of Madiba. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his inspirational life and the extraordinary legacy he has left South Africa and the world.
I really like this quote: "We can change the world and make it a better place. It is in your hands to make a difference." -Nelson Mandela
He taught us that no matter what happens in life, you can always choose kindness over anger, love over hate and forgiveness over resentment. His legacy will continue to inspire humanity.
May we all try to honour this great man's memory by doing everything we can to make this world a better place!
